Jeffrey Lewis is owner and manager. He doesn't own the building.
It looks like they are available to purchase in person or over the phone.
I believe so if it's for 6 or more.
Not in Leonardtown,
Crab cake I remember. Not sure about scallops.
Closed on Sundays
I just checked and The Front Porch will not be open on Christmas Eve nor Christmas Day.
We had the shrimp appetizer, brussel sprouts and bacon appatizer, chicken sandwich, and crab cake and it was all amazing!
The food was amazing! They have some excellent draft beer options too. The place is small and quaint, but has good parking. My bartender Steve was great!
One of my favorite restaurants. Great food and drinks. A little more expensive than other local spots but much better. Casual dining with a distinct upscale feel.
Sooo good. They have craft beer and cocktails. Wonderful food that's always fresh and handmade. Yum! They have expanded their patio seating so it's a great place to hang out and enjoy Leonardtown.
What a delightful place! I had a fabulous steak gyro with a great salad. The hubs had a melt in your mouth burger! Again, excellent!!! We’d absolutely recommend this place. The interior rooms were each set up with various tables giving it a very cozy feel. Bathroom was cute too! Wonderful service!
Great food, great service, and great atmosphere.
Scallops were perfectly cooked! Great drinks from the bar. Glad to be back!
Extremely disappointed with dinner. Food was under/over cooked. Delivered wrong from the kitchen. Fried pickles tasted frozen with an unpleasant breading. The only redemption was our server, Chris(sp?) as she was excellent unlike the food. She is the reason for 2 vs 1 star. Needless to say we won't be back.
We ordered take out for my wife's birthday and the food was amazing. It was our first time ordering from here due to them being a little pricey but it was definitely worth the money. The crab dip was to die for and the scallop risotto was cookee perfectly. Definitely look forward to ordering from here again in the future
Love this restaurant. It’s a restored turn of the century home in Leonardtown. The atmosphere is great with intimate dining areas, fabulous service and outstanding food. We showed up on a Saturday without a reservation. They were happy to have us and after a short wait we were seated in one of the second floor dining rooms. The food is American cuisine with a Southern flair. Definitely a place we’ll return to.
The Front Porch is a quaint restaurant. It's in a house, with seating on the main level, upstairs, and outside. The restaurant has a bar with a selection of mixed drinks, beer, and wines. The menu has a range from salads and sandwiches to steak or seafood. The menu is a bit small (but adequate) and some items may not be available every day, depending on the rotation of the specials. The food is great, but the prices are a bit high.
Excellent lunch, great staff, fantastic summer cocktails, very comfortable on the front porch, even in 100° heat
The food was tasty and reasonably priced. The portions were a good size for the price. The server was helpful and courteous.
Went for the first time tonight to celebrate our anniversary. We were seated quickly and our server, Chrystal, was very nice. That is the extent of anything good. We ordered fried pickles as an appetizer and they were terrible. The breading was too thick and actually stuck in my teeth. My husband said they tasted to him like they had been frozen. For entrees, my husband ordered the Rockfish Hemingway and specifically asked for the "pecan gravy" be on the side. His plate came out with this "gravy" covering the crab cake and rockfish. His dish had to go back and be remade. I had the Scallop Risotto. Of the 3 scallops on the dish, 2 were rubbery and all were completely full of grit. Not just a little grit...full of grit. The risotto was hard and rubbery as well. So completely disappointed! No interest in going back. Not even remotely worth the prices being charged.
Delicious food! I had the Rosemary Ranch Chicken with dijon mushroom gravy, rice, and sauteed spinach. The gravy had an interesting taste to it, I was expecting savory, but it had a slight sweetness to it. I also tried a bite of the Scallop Risotto and that was amazing!
Great food friendly staff. I like the outdoor seating as well!
So after arriving here my wife and I were kind of skeptical about the food because we hadn’t really heard anything about this place. We came here with about 12 people after we just got married so this was going to be our first meal together as husband and wife. I will have to say that we were pleasantly surprised because with all the food that we tried. The fish was cooked to perfection and the crab cakes were spectacular. The prices are on par with the quality of food and service. I don’t remember the name of the server but she was up for a challenge and didn’t crumble under pressure. The drinks were great and not water downed at all. We have and will recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for something different. Keep up the good work.
The food was delicious and service was super friendly. One of my favorite local spots.
Beautiful. Respect waitress. Delectable food.
Excellent meal. First time there, very impressed with the quality and presentation of our meals. A big plus-our plates were hot, not stone cold! Will definitely return!
Excellent atmosphere, fast service, beautiful outfit dining, historic building, unique, authentic menu and friendly wait staff. One of the nicest restaurants in Southern Maryland.
While the food is very delicious, the waiting time to be served need some improvements
Great menu and beer selection. The porch has a very relaxing ambiance. Pick a room any room or hang out on the deck. The place is an old restored house from 1850. The service is a little slow. The food is worth it.
This was the first time i had gone to the Front Porch. i was a little skeptical as i didn't know what "intimate" dining was. Its a historic building that had been renovated from a large family home to the restaurant. From the moment we opened the door, till the time we departed, it was a great experience. We had a family party of 7 and were placed in a smaller upstairs room with seating around a table for 8. Drink choices were plenty and the menu albeit short had ample choices from full dinners to sandwiches. I cant say enough about the staff. They were personable, accommodating and helped immensely throughout the dinner. While it was a little more than i might have paid at a "chain" restaurant, it was well worth the little extra and i would have gladly paid twice the price knowing what i do now. Take a break from the chain restaurants and visit The Front Porch, you wont be disappointed and you'll be back, just like we're gonna be.
I celebrated my graduation today in this great restaurant. I am glad to say that we enjoyed a incredible evening and the venue was evidently the reason for that happy celebration. The crew cooperated in a pleasant way, the meals were appetizing and my guests were extremely overjoyed. We shall surely come back again for more joyful events. thanks very much.
Very good service. The food is very good. Because of covid you have to call and make reservations.
Love this place. Found this place recently since I’m new to St. Mary’s. The food is delicious and gives me homemade soulful vibes. I would highly recommend if you want some delicious comfort food.
Steak cooked to perfection over baby spinach with pickled onions and blue cheese crumble. Covered outdoor seating careful staff
Great food and atmosphere. They have a baker in house you can order desserts in advance to pickup its called desserts by Jordan. The cheeseburger is one of the best I've had. Make sure you get their mayo on the burger it's spicy. Their steak is very good ! The fried pickles are great though the sauce is a little bland. Side salad had crubled blue feta but it was ok and dressing was good. Highly recommended! We've been multiple times but sometimes it's a long wait.
I had a Cuban sandwich when I went, and my friend had the crab cake. Usually we go during bar crawl so I never realized how fantastic the food is. However, I can say this place is all around fantastic.
Great food an people. i bought a hamburger to go and ate it at the Wharf. It was a juicy and thick patty that I can't wait to have again. Thanks Front Porch!
Didn't even get through the door. My family and I wanted to eat dinner here. When we arrived we were told that we could not eat without a reservation, and that it would be at least 3 hours before we could be seated, even though the entire patio section was empty(which is what we wanted anyway). Makes no sense to me, but apparently they aren't interested in running a profitable business.
Wonderful quaint atmosphere, serving upscale food, with good customer service from the wait staff.
We were uncomfortable in the chairs outside and the section down below with the booths was closed, they open the area for our comfort. Amazing service! My mom also has a bad gluten allergy so it’s hard for us to find restaurants with gluten free options, the front porch has multiple vegan and gluten free options! All around an amazing restaurant ❤️
Let me start by saying I love this place. I travel from the other side of Calvert county just for the house salad and their in house dressings. My only issue is consistency. The salad and dressings are always on point. I usually always get a crab dip and everytime it’s a different taste. I’m the type of person when I like something I keep getting it, so when each time I get it it is totally different the consistency of the dip and the taste. The dip last week was phenomenal, the dip I got today was super thick and bland. It almost tastes as if there isn’t a format(which I’m sure there is)like it can be switched up however the cook for the day sees fit. So now I have to realize it’s a gamble with the dip when I’m craving it I’m taking a chance ordering it.
Absolutely Rude!!! Food was Horrible!!! Overpriced!!!
Beautiful old house. Romantic setting. Steps to,the upstairs could be quieter as we were alone upstairs and a heavy footed staff member kept going up and down the steps. Other than that our server Amanda was awesome. Totally on top of her game.
Great tasting drinks and food. Wait staff was very polite
Perfect evening with my husband. Thanks for a great meal....we had the crab cakes and lamb entrees.
I love everything about The Front Porch. The food amazing. Very diverse menu. The service is excellent. Very clean and has separate rooms which is ideal for small gatherings. I had a salad w blackened salmon. The tuna appetizer is amazing.
Beautifully prepared cuisine in an intimate setting. We were seated right next to the fireplace on a damp and dreary afternoon. Everything we ordered was prepared to perfection! Fried green tomatoes, shrimp, salad, fried oysters. INCREDIBLY and tastefully seasoned!
My new favorite place in So MD. Great food. Great service. (McKenzie) and great place w/interesting history. Dining on the Front Porch of the Front Porch made for a really special experience.
One of my top 3 favorite restaurants in southern Maryland. The food was amazing, hot , and fresh. A must eat at establishment. Reservations not needed, but may help.
This place has quality food in a historic yet comfortable setting. The menu changes seasonally to reflect what is fresh and available. They also have a constantly changing selection of excellent beers on tap, many of them locally brewed. Whenever we are in Southern Maryland we make a point of having lunch at the Front Porch. And, for what you get, both quantity and quality, the prices are quite reasonable.
The breakfast Burger was a bacon cheeseburger on Texas toast with eggs and fries. It was very good.
Excellent environment and super welcoming service. The menu was fresh and yummy. Will clearly recommend this spot to friends and family. Reasonable prices and big portions. Great work.
The menu selections have become much more limited than previously. The service was very good, with a very attentive but not obtrusive waitress. The food was appropriately prepared and tasted good. It has a comfortable environment albeit rater noisy. Reservations can only be made for parties of 6 or more. It is one of the better choices in and around Leonardtown.
Very good food and drinks and very friendly employees. Unusual quaint environment.
Special birthday reserved for outdoors and due to their overbooking, tried to place inside. We have small kids and elders and we’re relying on the safer option of being outdoors. I understand the circumstances we are in but it was our first outing planned to celebrate and for them to not accommodate all those they overbooked and shift schedule is losing customers in the future.
The food is very good. The staff does not wear their masks covering their nose yet make a big issue of limiting the piblic and won't allow dogs outside despite their website stating they are pet frurndly outside. Their policies are arbitrary and they don't stick to them themselves.
